Powerhome Solar has announced it will open an office at 3901 Derry St., Harrisburg, and is holding interviews to hire 100 people.
The solar energy company launched its first Pa. office in Pittsburgh in 2018. It said it is adding a sales and installation office in Harrisburg and will hire energy consulting, installation and warehouse workers.
Open interviews will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 26-28.
In a news release, CEO Jayson Waller said, ”The statistics around renewable energy in Pennsylvania speak for themselves. Residents across the state have made it loud and clear there is a strong appetite for renewable energy, and we’re committed to helping these families achieve energy independence while also offering lasting career opportunities for hard-working Pennsylvanians.”
The company said the price of installing solar panels has dropped in recent years “due to lower equipment costs and various government tax incentives, including a federal solar tax credit of 26 percent on newly installed solar systems through the end of 2020.
Pennsylvania is one of many states that supports net metering, allowing consumers to sell their excess energy back to participating utility companies at the retail rate.”
