One person was killed outside a market in Harrisburg Monday evening, police said.
Harrisburg Sgt. Kyle Gautsch confirmed that the male, who police did not publicly identify, died at the scene.
Officers were called to Antonio’s Grocery at Sixth and Woodbine streets around 6:15 p.m., according to Gautsch. The man was found with injuries just outside the store.
As the coroner arrived around 8:20 p.m., a family wanted more information and spoke with officers. The group expressed grief and outrage at the shooting.
Investigators are looking for witnesses. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Harrisburg police at (717) 558-6900.
Monday’s shooting marked the first homicide of the year in the city. Harrisburg saw its most violent year in 30 years in 2020.
